VILNIUS – HELSINKI/ST.PETERSBURG

Day 1: VILNIUS

  •  Arrival to Vilnius

 Overnight: Vilnius

 

Day 2: VILNIUS 

  •   Sightseeing tour of Vilnius, capital of Lithuania with the Europe’s largest Baroque old town.

Discover the UNESCO World Heritage - protected Old town,  the Gates of Dawn with the holy image of the Virgin Mary, Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, Cathedral Square, Gediminas Castle, St. Ann and Bernardines Church, St’s. Peter and Paul’s Church, Town Hall Square and Vilnius University (founded in 1579) with St. John’s Church.

Overnight: Vilnius 

 

Day 3: VILNIUS – TRAKAI- VILNIUS

 

  •     Trip to Trakai (25 km from Vilnius), the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.  

Visit to the Trakai castle build in the XIV century, set on a small island on the Lake Galve. Discover the beautiful lakeside town of Trakai and learn about the Karaites ethnic group that settled there.  You can enjoy some free time to shop and relax. Evening return to Vilnius.

Day 4: VILNIUS – RIGA 

  •    Travel to Riga

 

Stop at Bauske to see its castle then go ahead to Rundale Palace the XVIII century, beautiful late Baroque palace in Latvia. There are a lot of spectacular rooms to see and a beautiful park around the palace.

Overnight: Riga

 

Day 5: RIGA

  •    Sightseeing tour in Riga

Walk through Riga’s Old Town, take in medieval sights like St. Peter’s Church and Riga Castle,  Explore the city’s striking, UNESCO-recognized Art Nouveau district, Head to the New Town for a look at the Freedom Monument.

Optional: Free evening or Afternoon excursion to Ethnographic Open Air Museum.

Overnight: Riga

 

Day 6: RIGA – TALLINN


  •    Sightseeing tour around Tallinn

Visit the old town, the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Alexander Nevskij (19th century), Town Hall Square (15th century), the Old Guild, St. Olaf’s Church. In Afternoon go to an excursion to the Kadriorg Park and visit to Kadriorg Palace.

Overnight: Tallinn

 

Day 7: TALLINN – HELSINKI

Optional: Day excursion to Lahemaa National Park - Located on the northern coast of Estonia, Lahemaa is perfect for a hiking trip and nature watching. Here you will find stony and sandy seashores, picturesque bogs, pine and cliff forests, rivers that cut into the limestone cliff as well as erratic rocks left over from the last Ice Age. 

  •  Take the ferry to Helsinki and enjoy exhilarating tour through the Finnish archipelago before arriving in Helsinki.

Day 8: HELSINKI

 

  •   Sightseeing tour around Helsinki

The sightseeing tour takes us around the harbor and Senate Square with the Lutheran Cathedral, up central Mannerheim Street and by the Parliament Building, the Finlandia Hall, the Sibelius Monument also to the famous Church in the Rock. After the tour you can go to the Kamppi Chapel of Silence which offers an opportunity to calm down in the middle of perhaps the busiest area in Finland.

Day 9: HELSINKI – ST.PETERSBURG

  •    Trip to St.Petersburg

Stop at Voborg Castle - a Swedish built medieval fortress.

Arrival to St. Petersburg

Day 10: ST. PETERSBURG

    

  •   Sightseeing tour

During the sightseeing you will see the Winter Palace, Peter - Paul Fortress, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Savior, the Nevsky Convent and much more. In The afternoon you can join the excursion to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine’s Palace and the Amber Room, which vanished during World War II and was restored for St. Petersburg’s tri-centennial celebrations.

Day 11: ST. PETERSBURG

  •   Hermitage museum

The museum was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great acquired an impressive collection of paintings from the Berlin merchant Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. Walk the reception halls of the Winter Palace, and tour the art gallery to behold the great masterpieces of Western European art.
